My Background
The roots for my globetrotting personality have been laid from a young age:
Growing up, I spent about half the time with my paternal family in southern Italy (check out my blog posts about the beautiful towns in Puglia) and the other half of the year with my parents in Germany during my childhood - an experience that has shaped me in more ways than I would ever have understood as a kid.
After school, I continued on doing what I did best: languages. On top of speaking my nativ languages German and Italian, I studied English, French and Spanish in Cologne, Germany, and spent the following 15 years moving all over the country (Baltic Sea coast, Dutch border, upper Bavaria and finally Munich) before emigrating to England in 2013.
In the UK, I lived in many places 'down south', from picturesque Somerset to rural Kent to the 'British Silicone Valley' of Berkshire to the quaint countryside of Hampshire.
I decided to relocate back to Germany very recently. Despite having spent most of my life here, I still very much feel like a cross between an expat, a tourist and a local.
As you can see, my life is always in motion (I like it that way) and I cannot stay in one place too long.
That's probably why I feel most 'at home' when I am travelling, when I am in places I have never been, learning things I never knew. It does not matter if that place is halfway across the globe or just down the road in the next village.
When I am home, I find that writing down my experiences, posting my photos and cooking food from all over the world helps me relive my experiences.
Thank you for being on my site, reading my blog, sharing my adventures.
